Raymond Sidney “Ray” Neil

Raymond Sidney “Ray” Neil, 86, of Grand Forks, N.D., and formerly of Mentor, passed away peacefully Sunday morning, June 12, 2022, at the Wheatland Terrace Assisted Living Center. The Memorial Mass of Christian Burial for Ray will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, June 18, 2022, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Gentilly with The Rev. Joe Richards presiding. Visitation with the family will be for one hour prior to the service. The Mass will be livestreamed by going to Ray’s obituary page at www.stenshoelhouske.com and clicking on the prompt to view. Burial will take place in St. Peter’s Cemetery.

Betty Ann Johnson

Betty Ann Johnson, 94, a longtime resident of Crookston passed away April 6, 2022 with her loving family at her side. Betty Ann was born September 12, 1927 in Aneta, N.D., one of three children from the marriage of Melvin “Mike” Tangen and Paula (Thorson) Tangen.

Linda Ardell Johnson

Linda Ardell Johnson, 75, of Crookston, MN, passed away at Essentia Health in Fargo, ND early Tuesday morning, June 7, 2022, with her loving family at her side. The funeral service for Linda will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 15, 2022, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Crookston with Pastor Jeff Brown, officiating. Visitation will at the Stenshoel-Houske Funeral Home on Tuesday from 5-7:00pm, with a prayer service at 7pm, and will continue at the church for one hour prior to the funeral. The services will be live streamed by going to Linda’s obituary page at www.stenshoelhouske.com and clicking on the prompt to view. A graveside service will take place at 4:30pm at the Bethany Lutheran North Cemetery, near East Grand Forks, MN, Wednesday afternoon at 4:30pm. In lieu of flowers it was Linda’s wish that memorials be given to a local Humane Society or animal rescue facility of choice.

Genevieve Maxine Bruley, 92, passed away on Wednesday evening, November 24, 2021, in her longtime Crookston home, while comforted by her son, Gary, who was at her side. Genevieve was born at Warren on February 25, 1929, the 12th of 13 children of the union of Everett and Nellie (Byrn) Taylor.

University of Minnesota Crookston The University of Minnesota Crookston announced that Tu Lynn Sommerfeld has returned as director of the Early Childhood Development Center (ECDC). Sommerfeld previously served as the director for 11 years, before leaving last fall to take a position at Sacred Heart School in East Grand Forks, Minn.
