It is with regret that CherryRoad Media announces the closing of The Crookston Times

Our company is dedicated to the preservation of community journalism. Since the purchase of our 1st paper in late-2020 to today, we have prided ourselves on our ability to fight the difficult battle that newspapers face in today’s digital society. Unfortunately, that battle cannot always be won.

The Crookston Times has struggled in recent years to find its footing in this community. Since purchasing The Crookston Times, CherryRoad Media has been unable to avoid financial losses every month. The paper was losing money when we bought it, and it continued to do so. We must now come to terms with the fact that we do not have a path forward to sustainability.

And we thank those who have supported us.

She considered her co-workers and theCamerons as part of her extended family.In 1989 she married Don Winand and they had threechildren, Colton, Carter, and Quinn.In 2006 she married Bobby Baird and they blendedtheir families together with much love.Natalie enjoyed camping, hiking, doing creative artprojects, reading and her pets.

Patricia Kay Langer

Patricia Kay Langer, 80, of Edina passed away unexpectedly on July 18, 2022. Survived by loving and devoted husband of 54 years, Henry; children, Tim (Karma) Langer, Sarah (Atsushi) Takagi, Phillip Langer; grandchildren Autumn, Addie and Pierce Langer; Aika and Mika Takagi; siblings, Anne and Ray Pierce. Preceded in death by parents, Raymond and Lucille Pierce; sister, Donna Thein. Patricia was a piano teacher for more than 55 years. She was recently inducted into the Steinway Hall of Fame for her extraordinary passion and love of music which she shared with family, as well as countless students and colleagues. She ensured that the gift of music was brought to the highest level in every child. Her love for her husband brought her joy and adventure as they walked through life. Everyone knew when they came to her home the joy she had for her gardens and making Lebanese food. Together with her loving husband, people knew they were always welcome at the Langer home. Patricia was a loving and devoted wife, mother, nana, and sister. She will be deeply missed. Visitation 4-7 p.m. Friday, August 5 at Washburn McReavy Edina Chapel, 5000 W. 50th St., Edina. JoAnne Stainbrook Schroeder, 59, of Jamestown, N.D., and a Crookston native, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2022, at Sanford Medical Center in Fargo with family at her side to comfort her. She had fought illness so hard for the last year and a half and literally to her very last breath.
