Glow Golf tournament back in full swing

Sixteen teams participated in The Benedictine Living Community - Crookston's Glow Golf Tournament on Saturday, September 10th . This annual event, which has become a comminuty favorite, had not taken place since 2019 due to COVID-19 restrictions. Cassie Rudie, Benedictine Crookston's Foundation Development Director says, “We are so happy to be able to host this event again. It was a great night of golf and fundraising and fun was had by all” The first place team was sponsored by Christianson Honey. Members of that team are pictured left to right in the photo, Ryan Liebl, Josh Fossand, Derek Christianson and Tanner Christianson. The second place team was sponsored by Wendell and Penny Johnson. Members of that team were Dylan Johnson, Tom Johnson, Chris Martin and Denny Martin. And the team taking third place was sponsored by Edward Jones – David Aamoth. Members of that team included Andy Fee, Katie Fee, Sam Melbye and Marley Melbye.

Minnesota Soccer Falls 2-0 to Concordia-St. Paul, 7-0 to Minnesota State

The University of Minnesota Crookston women’s soccer team allowed a goal in each half as they fell 2-0 to Concordia University-St. Paul Friday, September 16 at the UMN Crookston Soccer Field. The Golden Eagles generated three shots in the second half and had chances, but were unable to secure the equalizer before the Golden Bears scored their second goal of the afternoon.

Girls’ Tennis

“Halle had a great week going 3-1 at the toughest spot on the team in the #1 Singles slot as well as 1-0 at #1 Doubles. Halle's work ethic and competitive spirit has pushed her improvement at a faster pace than the other girls, solidifying her position on the roster.

“Tanner is a new addition to our football team this year, and we are so glad to have him. He has good football skills and even better leadership skills. We have asked him to learn a lot early in the year at the fullback/tailback positions on offense and linebacker on defense. He continues to get better and more comfortable in those roles every week and will be a solid player for us this year on both sides of the ball.” –Head Coach Nate Lubarski
