Minnesota Crookston Women’s Golf Places Ninth at EverSpring Inn & Suites Mustang Invitational

MARSHALL, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston women’s golf team placed ninth of 12 teams at the EverSpring Inn & Suites Mustang Invite at Marshall Golf Club in Marshall, Minn. The Golden Eagles shot a 338 Sunday, tying their third-best round in school history. Minnesota Crookston has shot their four best rounds in school history during the 2022-23 season.

UMN Crookston Announces Partnership with Sports Psychologist Erin Haugen, Ph.D.; Haugen to Present Keynote Wednesday in Kiehle Auditorium

The University of Minnesota Crookston is excited to be partnering with Erin Haugen, Ph.D., L.P, C.M.P.C., as a sports psychologist. Haugen will be celebrating their launch of the new Sports Psychologist Outreach Program with a keynote on “The Invisible Competition: Mental Health in Sports” Wednesday, September 28 at 7:30 p.m.

This weeks Pirate of the Week is Freshman, Swimmer Chloe Boll. Chloe has really stepped in to the role of the 50 Freestyle and 100 Freestyle swimmer. Chloe is a hard worker always looking to be challenged, pushed and never backs away form a hard practice. Chloe has been improving from week to week in her races, becoming stronger and stronger in her racing. Chloe is not only a hardworking swimmier but is also playing on the Pirate tennis team.

Ethan is a dominant football player. He had some incredible runs in the game against Frazee on Friday. He is a player that will get extra attention on both sides of the ball from every opponent we will face this year because of his strength and abilities. Ethan is also a very good teammate and leader.

Brannnon has been doing a great job holding down the midfield area and distributing the ball. Brannon scored a goal vs. East Grand Forks off a corner kick in our 2-1 loss to EGF last Thursday. He is a captain on the team, plays basketball and golf, and loves to lift weights!

Minnesota Crookston Women’s Cross Country Finishes 26th at Roy Griak Invitational

ST. PAUL, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston women’s cross country team took 26 of 30 teams at the Roy Griak Invitational Women’s Maroon 6K. The Golden Eagles beat NSIC schools Upper Iowa University and Concordia University-St. Paul. Madison Hilliard (Fr., Jacksonville, N.C.) led the Golden Eagles with a time of 24:50.4, placing 96 of 382 runners. Anna Grabowski (So., Waterdown, Ontario) returned after missing the St. Olaf Invitational. She finished in 25:17.5. Madison Elijah (So., Hebron, Ind.) clocked in at 28:40.9. Brooke Benson (Sr., Monroe, Wash.) posted a time of 30:03.5. Alex Christen (R-So., Sauk Centre, Minn.) set her season best with a time of 30:44.9. Rena Sakai (Sr., Chiba, Japan) also set her season best with a time of 32:21.1. Katie Orth (Sr., Randall, Minn.) posted a time of 32:24.5. Brianna Shaw (Sr., Bemidji, Minn.) improved her time, finishing in 35:37.3.
