Wilmer Sevigny

Wilmer Sevigny, 89, of Crookston passed away on May 16, 2022, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D. Wilmer was born on August 1, 1932, to Leon and Clara (Dumas) Sevigny in Oakwood, N.D. Wilmer grew up near Oakwood and graduated from St. Aloysius Academy. He later moved to Erskine to farm with his parents.

Lee Nielson

Lee Nielson, 91, of Erskine passed away on Thursday, April 21, at Essentia Health Living Center in Fosston. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, at Grace Lutheran Church in Erskine with Pastor Mike Sletto and Pastor Randy Reimer officiating. Interment will be in Rosehill Cemetery, Mentor. Family will greet friends from 1 p.m. until the time of service at the church. The service will be live-streamed on the Carlin Facebook Page and also recorded for later viewing on the Carlin website. Arrangements are with Carlin Family Funeral Service of Erskine and messages of condolence may be shared at www.carlinfuneral.com. A Memorial Service celebrating the lives of Kenneth and Patricia Johannson will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, May 13, 2022, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Crookston with The Rev. Greg Isaacson, officiating. Ken passed away on November 14, 2021 and Pat on January 14, 2022. Myrtle M. Ellis of Crookston passed away at the Benedictine Living Community Crookston on January 17, 2022. Daniel “Dan” James Gramer

Daniel “Dan” James Gramer, 74, of Land O’Lakes, Fla., passed away early Friday morning April 29, 2022, in the Hospice Unit of the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital in Tampa Bay, Fla. with loved ones by his side, to include his wife Pat, his daughters and some siblings. Dan was born in Crookston on April 12, 1948 to Earl and Jeanne Gramer. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of the Rosary Catholic Church in Land O’ Lakes. That will be followed by a Memorial Mass celebrating Dan’s life later this summer at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston. Burial will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Crookston.

Charles Cammack (1932-2022)

Charles F. Cammack of Dunwoody, GA died peacefully at home on April 24. Charlie was born and raised in New Ulm, MN before moving to Crookston, where he met and married his high school sweetheart, Sally Brunelle. He graduated from St. John’s University and remained a supportive alum, endowing the school with a scholarship for future students from Crookston.

Sister Joan Lanctot, CSJ, (Madeline)

Sister Joan Lanctot, CSJ, (Madeline), 90, passed away Tuesday evening, December 28, 2021 in the Benedictine Living Community of Crookston. The Mass of Resurrection for Sister Joan Lanctot will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, May 12, 2022, in the Villa St. Vincent Chapel of Benedictine Living Community Crookston with The Rev. Joe Richards, presiding. Burial will take place in Calvary Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to the Congregation of St. Joseph or the Villa Foundation. Maxine Enid Hanson Holmquist

Maxine Enid Hanson Holmquist passed away peacefully at Riverview Health in Crookston on April 29, 2022, surrounded by her family. Maxine was born in Hallock to Enevol and Florence (Danielson) Willadson on September 8, 1933. She attended school in Hallock, graduating in 1951. She attended the College of Medical Technology and X-ray in Minneapolis and worked for Dr. G.A. Knutson in Hallock until her marriage to Ronald Hanson at Hallock in September of 1953. They lived in San Francisco where her first daughter was born and moved to Orleans, Minn., where four more children were added to their family. She worked for the United States Customs for 10 years earning an Outstanding Performance Award in recognition and appreciation for noteworthy contributions. Maxine continued her education, completing the course in Medical Secretary at the Grand Forks AVTI in 1986 and worked seven years with children with disabilities in the East Grand Forks school system. Maxine was married to Charles Peter Holmquist in Fargo, N.D., on February 19, 2011, bringing into the family his five children, Vickie (Ken) Hubert, Keith (Marie) Holmquist, Paul (Colleen) Holmquist, and David (Deb) Holmquist and their families. They established their home in Crookston where Maxine actively participated in Trinity Lutheran Church, their quilting group, the activities of Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America and other community organizations.
