Registration open for winter driver education

Winter Driver Education registration is open now until Thursday, November 17th at 4:30 pm. Students must be at least 15 years old by Mach 31st, 2023 to register for Driver Education. The fee is $325 and must be paid before the first day of class. Please complete the Driver Education form and email it back to Mr. Trostad at christrostad@ isd593.org or mail it to Highland School, 801 Central Avenue North, Crookston or drop it off at Crookston High School. Driver Education forms may be picked up in the office at Crookston High School or downloaded.

Concert planned at North Dakota Museum of Art

Cellist Yi Qun Xu and pianist Yoon Lee will perform a concert of chamberworks by Janacek, Prokofiev, Beethoven and Yitong Liu on Sunday, November 13, 2022 at 2pm in the gallery of the North Dakota Museum of Art. The concert is the second in a series of classical concerts sponsored by the Myra Foundation and bringing artists of national and international stature to local audiences.

UMN Crookston welcomes cohort of students from Vietnam starting in 2023

It all stemmed from a dual degree articulation agreement with a member of the Vietnam National University in 2020 that led to the recruitment of students coming soon to the University of Minnesota Crookston campus. Chancellor Mary Holz-Clause and Global Programs Director Sok Leng Tan traveled to southeast Asia in late September 2022 to meet with a cohort of students who had just completed their first year of studies at University of Social Sciences and Humanities (USSH) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, and those students are looking forward to coming to Crookston in Fall 2023.

Eagles Club to host craft fair

The Crookston Eagles Club will be hosting the Fall Craft and Vendor Fair on Saturday November 5th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Rolls and Coffee as well as a BBQ and chips lunch will be available to purchase. The bar will be open. No entry fee to attend. Raffle tickets available for purchase to win items donated by the participants. Come see us! Stay for bingo that starts at 2 p.m.!

University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) Announces Dean’s List for Spring Semester 2022

Kelsey Roed, Cookston, Junior, College of Education and Human Service Professions (CEHSP), Exercise Rehab Sci B A Sc was named to the Dean’s list at The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD). Students on the Dean's List have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher while earning a minimum of 12 letter- graded credits. The four colleges within UMD are: College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) College of Education and Human Service Professions (CEHSP) Labovitz School of Business and Economics (LSBE)

Honoring Veterans

The Crookston Golden Link Senior Center is helping the Veterans Council again this year on Veterans Day by co-hosting the 11-11-11 Ceremony at the Link. The ceremony is open to the public.

Third-Quarter IDEA winner announced

Cory Shuler was recently selected as the Improve Dee Excellence Award (IDEA) winner for the 3rd quarter, 2022. Shuler works in the casting department at Dee Manufacturing and won the award for his suggestion to improve matchplate rollover in the Hunter 32 sand molding operation. Shuler has been an employee at Dee Manufacturing for 4 years and is a resident of Crookston. He and his wife Melissa have 6 children, Andrew (19), Valerie (16), Ethan (14), Millie, (11), Aubri (7) and Layla (4).
