Minnesota Catholic Daughters meet for Biennial Convention

The Minnesota Catholic Daughters of the Americas 50th Biennial Minnesota State Convention was recently held in Detroit Lakes. Court St Cecilia Court #2025 had six local members in attendance: Regent Bev Philion, Shirley Johnson, Melanie LaCrosse, Donna Rystad, State Treasurer Vera Hannig and Past State Regent Margee Keller. Also, District Deputy Alana Kuznia from Argyle.

DNR Fish and Wildlife Almanac

Minnesota moms: join the Mother’s Day weekend fishing challenge Moms who live in Minnesota are invited to join a free virtual fishing challenge Saturday, May 13, through Sunday, May 14, during Take a Mom Fishing Weekend, when all Minnesota moms can fish without purchasing a fishing license.

Crookston High School students Teagen and Tatum Lubinski helped the Polk County Historical Society put down roots. On May 13, the brothers dug holes for planting trees on the Crookston museum grounds. PCHS buildings and grounds chairman Francis LaPlante planted 15 American plum trees east of the museum.

Sundquist earns IDEA award

Tommy Sundquist was recently selected as the Improve Dee Excellence Award (IDEA) winner for the 1st quarter, 2023. Sundquist works in the casting department at Dee Manufacturing and won the award for his suggestion to improve pouring ladle longevity. Sundquist has been an employee at Dee Manufacturing for four months and is a resident of Crookston.
