Hospice is Love: Social Worker Speaks to Rewarding Experiences Working with Hospice Patients

Hospice of the Red River Valley’s social workers are an integral part of the hospice team. By ensuring that patients and their loved ones have assistance, education and support, hospice social workers empower people to make important end-oflife decisions. They meet patients where they’re at—physically and emotionally—to provide patient-centered care. They work closely with nurses, CNAs and other hospice team members to provide cohesive, compassionate care for patients.

Paws and Pals 4-H Club participate in MN Zoo STEM Design Challenge

The Crookston Paws and Pals 4-H Club recently received 3rd place for Exhibit Design in the MN Zoo's ZOOMS STEM Design Challenge. The ZOOMS STEM Design Challenge offers students in grades 3-12 a chance to develop a solution to a real problem faced by zookeepers and staff at the Minnesota Zoo. This year, students were challenged to apply their science and math knowledge, creativity, and problem-solving skills to engineer an innovative enrichment or exhibit design solution for the Minnesota Zoo’s pack of gray wolves.

Crookston High School Math Counts state send-off

Crookston High School Math Counts students got a proper send-off Friday, March 11 before heading to the state competition. Advancing to state for individuals were Sam Widseth and Leah Johanneck; advancing to state for team were Sam Widseth, Ashton Hoffman, Peter Wiersma and Jace Bruggeman.
