MNDOT: Private signs not permitted on public highway rights of way

The Minnesota Department of Transportation reminds the public that state law prohibits placement of private signs of any kind (i.e., political, lost pet, garage sale and other advertising signage) on highway right-of-way in Minnesota. Highway rights of way include driving lanes, inside and outside shoulders, ditches, sight corners at intersections, and boulevards in urban areas.

‘Common Ground’ youth summer event to be held July 28 at Trinity Point

Area churches including First Presbyterian, Harvest, Trinity, St. Paul's, Cathedral and Our Savior's will be hosting their "Common Ground" summer event for youth in grades 7-12 on Thursday, July 28 at Trinity Point on Maple Lake. There will be time for fellowship and eating (dinner/snacks provided), group games and activities, free time to swim and lounge on the beach, and they'll end the day with worship and music around a campfire.

The workshop: “This is What Heals Me”

“Participants will be working on ‘This is What Heals Me’ Creations. After learning about the ‘Three Secret Teachings of Creativity,’ participants will create 2-D or 3-D pieces of art that reflect what is healing to them. Participants can choose from a variety of materials that will be supplied from paint, canvas, paper, wire, buttons, wire, magazines, markers, clay, colored pencils, objects found in nature, etc. This workshop is fun, non-judgmental, and inspiring. Participants don’t have to consider themselves an artist to participate.”
