Sponsors Needed for Blue Jackets Bright Futures Program

With school in full swing, thousands of young people are joining FFA in Minnesota. To support the development of these young people, future leaders for agriculture and their local communities, the Minnesota FFA Foundation is again offering the Blue Jackets Bright Futures program which provides official FFA jackets to members who have completed an application indicating their desire to be involved with FFA programs.

Hwy 2 Crookston Study Update

Minnesota Department of Transportation Submitted Where is the study now? The study team held a final meeting with the Community Review Panel on July 12 to gather consensus on a preferred corridor alternative. The panel recommended Alternative A as the preferred option for Main Street and Broadway which includes: • two one-way travel lanes • parking lanes on both sides • boulevard spacing with sidewalks on both sides • bike trail on one side This option reduces the width of the roadway from 56 feet to 40 feet and reallocates that space to non-motorized users.

City of Crookston Ward 4 Meeting

Submitted The City of Crookston Ward 4 Board of Directors and the Downtown Crookston Development Partnership (DCDP) will host an important listening and input session to discuss the results of the two surveys for all residents of Ward 4, the downtown business owners, downtown residents and the Crookston community. All are invited to participate and comment on concers, challenges, obstacles and future optimism of Ward 4.

Fertile Library to Host Wellness in the Woods Presentation on September 20

Lake Agassiz Regional Library Submitted MOORHEAD,MINNESOTA - The Fertile Public Library will host an informational program hosted by Renee Cardarelle of Wellness in the Woods on Tuesday, September 20 at 10 a.m. Cardarelle will share information about Peer Specialists which support people who have lived mental health and substance use experiences.

Workforce Development Scholarships awarded to 65 M State students

Submitted (September 6, 2022) - Sixty-five Minnesota State Community and Technical College students enrolled in degree and diploma programs that lead to high-demand occupations have been awarded $2,500 scholarships this academic year, thanks to the Minnesota Legislature's Workforce Development Scholarship program. Eligible M State students pursuing careers in the fields of advanced manufacturing, agriculture, early childhood education, healthcare services, information technology and transportation have received a combined total of $162,500 in Workforce Development Scholarships for the 2022-23 academic year.
