AMERICAN PARKINSON DISEASE ASSOCIATION BRINGS SPECIALIZED SUPPORT FOR NEWLY DIAGNOSED TO DULUTH

MINNEAPOLIS, MN -- The American Parkinson Disease Association (APDA) Minnesota Chapter is set to host a free twopart special educational program for northern Minnesota residents newly diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease. Education and support at this key stage empowers people with Parkinson’s disease (PD) to make the best choices possible for their treatment moving forward. The APDA Parkinson’s Good Start Program is taking place on Wednesday, October 12, and Wednesday, October 19, from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Individuals are encouraged to participate on both dates to benefit from the entire program. There is no cost to attend, but pre-registration is required.

UMN Crookston students win art contest

University of Minnesota Crookston students involved with the Multicultural International Club participated in the annual Chalk It Up art event in downtown Crookston September 10 and won first place in the student art contest sponsored by Crookston Rotary Club. Students earned a $350 cash prize for their artwork along 2nd St.

Minnesota’s Voting Season Starts September 23 September is Voter Registration Month

SAINT PAUL — Voting season is just around the corner in Minnesota and now is the time to get registered. Using mnvotes.gov, Minnesotans can register to vote, check their registration, and update their registration on their computer or smartphone. Early voting will begin on September 23. Minnesota registered voters can request an absentee ballot to vote from home at mnvotes. gov or vote early with an absentee ballot at a local election office.
