Updated with a correction by the Crookston Police Department: An accident was reported on May 10 at approximately 4:25 p.m. when a 2017 Subaru, driven by Darrel Montieth of Crookston, was struck by a 2009 Subaru, driven by Sharon Munter of Warba, MN.

William Terrance Marciniak, 51, Halstad, was arrested May 9 by the Clay County Sheriff's Department for driving after cancellation. He was released on his own personal recognizance.

A fire call came in May 10 at 4:25 p.m. to East Robert Street and Ash Street for a two-vehicle accident.

The Neen’s Future in Space Scholarship, a component fund of the Northwest Minnesota Foundation, is seeking qualified applicants for its 2022 scholarship round. The annual scholarship is dedicated to qualified students who have graduated from high schools within the NMF service area; who are pursuing their junior or senior year in post-secondary education or post-graduate study through a college, university, or other accredited non-profit technical or vocational education/training institution or program; and are majoring in the study of science, math, technology or engineering with the preference for students entering a career in astrophysics, aeronautical engineering, or aerospace.

Our Savior's Lutheran School students in kindergarten through sixth grade recently participated in the Minnesota North Lutheran Schools track meet in Perham May 13. "Students at all grade levels had great success and a wonderful day of competition and fellowship," said Our Savior's Principal Sandra Trittin.

Riverview Health hosted a blood drive with Vitalant on April 22 at Riverview Health which helped collect a total of 39 units of blood products for patients in need. A total of 35 individuals volunteered to donate blood and 31 individuals were able to successfully donate.
