Polk County Public Health and Norman- Mahnomen Public Health encourage community members to change their smoke and carbon monoxide (CO) detector batteries when turning ahead the clock on Sunday, March 12, 2023. Smoke and CO detectors save lives every day, but many families do not check their detectors routinely.

Crookston Library’s Books & Brews Book Club to Discuss ‘Killers of the Flower Moon’ on March 28

The Crookston Public Library will host a meeting of the Books & Brews Book Club on Tuesday, March 28 at 6:30 p.m. at Drafts Sports Bar & Grill, 925 Fisher Ave. The group will read and discuss ''Killers of the Flower Moon' by David Grann. The book club meets the fourth Tuesday of every other month to discuss books and enjoy beverages.

RiverView Foundation Wins Top Giving Hearts Honor, Surges Beyond $203K in Donations

Giving Hearts Day 2023 is the gift that keeps giving for the RiverView Foundation. As was previously announced, the Feb. 9th online fundraiser for nonprofits was a huge success with 242 gifts given to the Foundation by generous donors for more than $193,000. Since that announcement, the Dakota Medical Foundation has crunched the numbers and revealed that the RiverView Foundation placed first in raising funds in its division.

Congratulations to Sharon Gulseth who is Benedictine Living Community - Crookston's March Senior Athlete of the Month! Sharon is recognized for her commitment to her recovery both during her short-term care and rehab stay at the Villa and her outpatient occupational therapy admission while residing at the Summit. She successfully participated in physical and occupational therapy during her short-term care and rehab stay allowing her to safely transition back to her assisted living apartment.
