The three runners all finished in the top 12 of their respective races

Crookston had a great showing with Katherine Geist finishing third in the varsity girls division.  Katherine started out strong and ran with the lead pack.  She was in fifth place with a mile to go and was able to push through mentally and physically to finish the 5000 meter course in 19:52.  Katherine trains and often races with Erica Eades from East Grand Forks but knows she has a stronger start and Erica has a stronger finish so she pushed hard right from the gun and was able to compete very well.  Emily Gillette ran her first 5000 of the year and finished 12th in the junior varsity division.  Emily shows up to practice each day and is a hard worker, she was anxious to run the Bagley course as she knows she will get to run it at the section meet.

Crookston’s Ben Andringa also had a great finish.  Ben ran the Varsity boys race in 17:44 for 5000 meters, good for eighth place.  It was a big meet with a lot of great competition.  Ben also started out with the lead pack and as they spread out a bit he was able to maintain a top 10 finish.
