Hanson lauds their efforts

The Crookston Envirothon team competed Monday at the state competition held in Cloquet at the Forestry Center, finishing in 20th place.

"It was a great experience for these students and I'm very proud of their efforts," said coach/advisor Wes Hanson.

A big piece of this year's Envirothon was Urban/Community Forestry, Hanson said. The Crookston team created a proposal for the long‐term implementation of reforestation efforts in a fictitious city in Minnesota, he explained, and at the state competition they were scored on the presentation of their proposal as well as stations on aquatics, wildlife, current environmental issues, soils, and forestry.
