Leonard’s truck left the roadway, crashed into several large trees
A Crookston man, Charles J. Leonard, 71, was seriously injured Tuesday in Kittson County, where the truck he was driving and the trailer he was towing left the road, went through the ditch and crashed into several trees.
The Minnesota State Patrol says the accident was reported at 10:10 a.m. on Minnesota Highway 75. Leonard was eastbound in a 2012 KW T800 and towing a 2000 East End Dump trailer when he drove off the left side of the road before a curve, crossed through the ditch, then side-swiped and head-on crashed with a number of large trees.
Leonard was brought to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks with serious injuries. No alcohol was detected and he was wearing his seat belt. The accident investigation continues.
