First-ever joint celebration with UND held in Grand Forks, Day of Service held in Crookston.

In Crookston and Grand Forks on Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, the U of M, Crookston did its part to commemorate the civil righs icon.

At a first-ever celebration involving UMC and the University of North Dakota, a Unity Walk ended at the Empire Arts Center, where UMC Chancellor Fred Wood said, “He prayed and worked hard for a world that would be better. We’re closer to his dream, but we’re not there yet.”

Meanwhile, as part of an MLK, Jr. Day of Service, UMC students, pictured on the left, filled as many boxes as they could in 90 minutes at the North Country Food Bank warehouse.
