He worked with president's campaign, then sent in one of 50,000 applications to participate in Jan. 21 event.

Abbey Wemimo isn’t sure what he’ll be doing at President Obama’s inauguration on Monday in Washington, D.C. All the international student from Lagos, Nigeria, a senior at the University of Minnesota, Crookston, knows is that he’s been invited to volunteer during the inauguration preparations, and he was thrilled to accept.

Wemimo worked on Obama’s re-election campaign and subsequently submitted an application to be part of the inauguration. Approximately 50,000 similar applications were submitted.

Wemimo is set to graduate from UMC in the spring.
