Students compete in math masters

Fifth and sixth-grade students from Highland Elementary and Crookston Middle School competed in the regional Math Masters of Minnesota Challenge in Bemidji, MN.The fifth-grade team competing were Joseph Goering, Devin Gudmundson, Hillary Weber, Bryson Reid, and Cora Jackson.The sixth-grade team competing were Haddie Halland, Mollie Wagner, Ella Capistran, Cohen Luckow, and Harrison Cameron.The sixth-grade team placed first and the fifth-grade team placed fifth.Ella Capistran: Second place in the Facts Competition and 1st place in the Individual Competition.Harrison Cameron: Sixth place in the Facts Competition and Seventh place in the Individual Competition.Cohen Luckow: eighth place Facts CompetitionDevin Gudmundson: fourth in the Individual CompetitionThese students competed individually and as teams on eight sets of mathematical problems in this competition for a total of 325 problems.Math Masters of Minnesota provides competitions in mathematics for thousands of fifth- and sixth-grade students.
