Whether you need CPR certification to fulfill a job requirement or simply want the knowledge to know what to do in an emergency, RiverView Health has a class for you.RiverView offers two CPR classes on the second Thursday of each month – one for certification and the other provided free of charge for general knowledge.RiverView’s HeartSaver CPR AED (automated external defibrillator) class is for those needing certification.

DNR report shows wetland gains in state

Minnesota has had a net gain of approximately 43,000 acres of wetland in the period of 2006-2020 — that’s one of the key findings of the Wetland Status and Trends Monitoring Report released today by the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.The report also shows that most of the wetland gain was realized in the last six years of the 15-year (2006-2020) monitoring period.

Minnesota DNR shares 2023 accomplishments

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources has released a year-end list of some of its major accomplishments in 2023 (files.dnr.state.mn.us/aboutdnr/minnesota-dnr-2023-accomplishments.pdf).From supporting the return of rare species and connecting more people to the outdoors, to conserving and managing the state’s natural resources and providing for commercial uses of natural resources in ways that create a sustainable quality of life in Minnesota, the DNR made significant advances toward the mission and priorities laid out in the agency’s strategic plan (mndnr.gov/conservationagenda).“I am so proud of all that Minnesota DNR accomplished in 2023 and how that work benefits conservation and outdoor recreation in Minnesota as well as the health of people, the environment and the economy,” DNR Commissioner Sarah Strommen said.
