CHS Speech Competes at State

The Crookston Speech Team competed in the Class A State Tournament on Saturday, April 29th at Eastview High School, with Samantha Rezac and Zara Baig advancing to finals and placing! Samantha Rezac competed in Storytelling and received 2nd place with her telling of the tale of “The Monkey and the Jellyfish”. Zara Baig competed in Humor and received 4th place with her script Remotely Related by Alan Haehnel. Also competing were Brandon Wandrie in Original Oratory, and Zachariah Plante in Humor.

Pasque Flower Hike in Fertile Sand Hills

Pasque flowers are finally blooming in the Fertile Sand Hills. Come out and enjoy a guided spring hike to view pasque flowers in the Fertile Sand Hills at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 6th. It is expected that quite a few pasque will be blooming by May 6th, but two additional guided hikes will occur the following Saturday, May 13th—at 10:30 and at 2:00 p.m. That weekend might be closer to “peak” bloom this year.
