UMN Crookston faculty to host research expertise showcase March 2

The University of Minnesota Crookston will host its second faculty research expertise showcase March 2, 2023 from 12-2 p.m. in the Sargeant Student Center and invite educational institutions, industry partners, community stakeholders, and the general public to attend. Faculty from all four departments on campus will present posters in their respective fields of expertise and share more information about their published abstracts.

5th Annual Candlelight Ski / Owl Prowl at Rydell National Wildlife Refuge

On the evening of Saturday, March 4th the Friends of Rydell and Glacial Ridge Refuges Association will host the 5th Annual Candlelight Ski and Owl Prowl event at Rydell National Wildlife Refuge near Erskine, MN. The timing of this event will coincide with the breeding season of several local owl species, and hopefully good snow conditions, clear skies, and moderate temperatures! The Rydell Visitor Center will be open throughout the event, which will run from 6:30pm to 10:00pm. The Refuge’s Golden Pond and Church Lake trails will be groomed and lighted for this event.

Crookston youth wrestlers compete in Barnesville

On Saturday, Feb 4th,nine youth wrestlers competed in Barnesville, MN in three duals. Our wrestlers got anywhere from four to five matches at this event. The first dual was against Frazee, Crookston won 21-18; second dual was against Barnesville, Crookston came out on top 13-12; and the third and final dual was against UCB, this was either a 1010 tie or 11-10 loss for Crookston.
