HOPE IS ALIVE – ALWAYS EMBRACE

Revelation 3:20 “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if anyone hears my voice, and opens the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.” Do you believe in the effectiveness of prayer? Do you believe God is capable of indwelling His Holy Spirit in the hearts and minds of men and women? Do you believe God can reveal Himself in the young and the old? Do you believe God can save America? If we answered “yes” to those questions, we have to be super-excited about the revival that is taking place at Asbury University in Wilmore, Kentucky and appears to be spreading all across America and very likely to other parts of the world. Christians have been praying for revival in America for years.

Dear Readers, I don’t mean to be confusing, but you are aware that “warring” is not always with other countries, but can also be between members of our own country, social, class, gender, race, point of origin, financial standing, political sympathies, political/ individual clash or political disregard, just to name a few. One example might illustrate the complexity: some wonder whether racial issues and the blending of “origins” are leading toward a new form of “civil war”.

THOMAS EVANS HUNT

Thomas Evans Hunt, 74, of Crookston passed away at his rural home Monday evening, February 13, 2023. The funeral service for Tom Hunt was held at 11 a.m., Tuesday, February 21, 2023, in Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Crookston. Visitation was at Stenshoel- Houske Funeral Home on Monday from 5-7 p.m., with a 7 p.m. prayer service, and visitation continued at the church for one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will take place in Oakdale Cemetery in the spring. Both the prayer and funeral services were livestreamed by going to Tom’s obituary page at www.stenshoelhouske.com.

PAUL, Minn., Feb. 16, 2023 -- U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development Minnesota State Director Colleen Landkamer today announced an investment of $10 million to bring highspeed internet access to people living and working in rural Minnesota. Today’s investments include funding from President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, which provides a historic $65 billion to expand reliable, affordable, high-speed internet to all communities across the U.S.

UMN Crookston professor Dani Johannesen announced as 2022-2023 recipient of Horace T. Morse award

University of Minnesota Crookston associate professor Danielle “Dani” Johannesen, Ph.D. has been announced as a 2022-2023 recipient of the Horace T. Morse University of Minnesota Alumni Association Award for Outstanding Contributions to Undergraduate Education. Those who receive the award become members of the Academy of Distinguished Teachers (ADT) and the title “Distinguished University Teaching Professor” or “Distinguished University Teacher” is conferred upon recipients, plus new members will be invited to participate in ADT events and activities.
