Minnesota Crookston Men’s Basketball Heads to North Dakota State For Lone Exhibition Game Before Regular Season

Fargo, N.D. – Minnesota Crookston men’s basketball opens up a new era on Wednesday night at North Dakota State. The Golden Eagles will kick-off the Bryan Beamish era with an exhibition game against the Bison of the Summit League. It will be the 13th time these two teams have met and the first since Nov. of 2014, a one point Bison victory. This will be the third exhibition game these two programs have played.

Minnesota Crookston Trap Finishes Regular Season Ranked Third in Conference

The University of Minnesota Crookston trap team finished the regular season in third place in USA College Clay Target League Conference 1A-4. The Golden Eagles had 3,075 points over five weeks of the regular season. Their week five score was 638.0, their third-best team score of the season. Minnesota Crookston finished 567.5 points behind Lake Superior College, and 619.5 points behind Southwest Wisconsin Technical College. They defeated Lake Area Technical College and Mount Aloysius College.

Minnesota Crookston Equestrian Earns High Point Team Accolades Saturday at Wisconsin-River Falls

RIVER FALLS, Wis. – The University of Minnesota Crookston equestrian team competed in a pair of IHSA jump seat meets Saturday, October 29 and Sunday, October 30 in River Falls, Wis. The Golden Eagles earned high point team accolades Saturday, with Kristen Borchert (Fr., Coon Rapids, Minn.) earning high point rider nods. Sunday, UMN Crookston claimed reserve high point team honors, while Borchert was reserve high point rider.

Honoring Veterans

The Crookston Golden Link Senior Center is helping the Veterans Council again this year on Veterans Day by co-hosting the 11-11-11 Ceremony at the Link. The ceremony is open to the public.

University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) Announces Dean’s List for Spring Semester 2022

Kelsey Roed, Cookston, Junior, College of Education and Human Service Professions (CEHSP), Exercise Rehab Sci B A Sc was named to the Dean’s list at The University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD). Students on the Dean's List have achieved a grade point average of 3.50 or higher while earning a minimum of 12 letter- graded credits. The four colleges within UMD are: College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences (CAHSS) College of Education and Human Service Professions (CEHSP) Labovitz School of Business and Economics (LSBE)

Eagles Club to host craft fair

The Crookston Eagles Club will be hosting the Fall Craft and Vendor Fair on Saturday November 5th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Rolls and Coffee as well as a BBQ and chips lunch will be available to purchase. The bar will be open. No entry fee to attend. Raffle tickets available for purchase to win items donated by the participants. Come see us! Stay for bingo that starts at 2 p.m.!

All My Relations Arts, the Native American Community Development Institute and Hennepin Theatre Trust announce Artist Cohort for the 2022-2023 season of We Are Still Here

With sage advice, mentorship, and training by an experienced artist with an emphasis in murals, artists will gain tools, expand their learning, and implement their training through a series of projects. Thomasina Topbear, We Are Still Here mural artist mentor shares, “I am excited to be working with this all-Native Artist cohort. Community is very important to me and has played a key role in my upbringing. I feel that being a part of any Indigenous community is sharing your resources and knowledge for the betterment of the whole. I am honored to have been asked by All My Relations Arts Gallery and Hennepin Theatre Trust to be a mentor and share my skill sets with those wanting to learn.”

Small game license sales remain below 10-year averages The number of small game hunters in Minnesota continues to decline along a long-term trendline. The number of small game licenses sold in 2021 was 233,901, down 4% from the previous year and 7% below the 10-year average.
