Minnesota Crookston Equestrian Earns High Point Team at NDSU; Siefkes Earns High-Point Rider

FARGO, N.D. – The University of Minnesota Crookston equestrian team opened the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association (IHSA) Season Saturday, October 8 and Sunday, October 9 in Fargo, N.D., in a jumping seat show. The Golden Eagles earned High Point Team honors the first day, with Gabriella Siefkes (So., Aberdeen, S.D.) capturing High Point Rider honors. The Golden Eagles had six class winners on day one. Day two, UMN Crookston had five class winners.

Altru Selects New Executive Vice President of Hospital Operations/ Chief Nursing Officer

Altru Health System announced today that Cory Geffre, MSMSL, RN, BSN, has been selected as the organization’s new executive vice president of hospital operations and chief nursing officer beginning December 2022. Geffre will take over from Janice Hamscher, who recently announced her plans to retire.

RiverView awards scholarship

Traditionally, the RiverView Auxiliary Board of Directors awards a $500 scholarship to a RiverView Employee who is interested in furthering his or her education and commitment to healthcare. The recipient of this scholarship has been chosen by a committee of Auxilians based on essay answers, and has announced, Clarissa Simonsen, LSW as this year’s winner.

Crookston, MN Lee-Rokala Elected to National Board of Directors

Jami Lee-Rokala has been elected to serve on the National CACFP Sponsors Association (NCA) Board of Directors, beginning October 1, 2022 for a three-year term. She brings years of experience working with CACFP as the Child Nutrition Services Manager at Tri-Valley Opportunity Council, Inc. Under her directive, Tri-Valley sponsors 16 sites that participate in the CACFP and/or Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). In her role as a Child Nutrition Manager, Jami has worked to unite efforts to meet the needs of her community by building and strengthening partnerships and collaborating towards common goals.

Minnesota Crookston Hockey Mounts Third Period Comeback to Upend Jamestown in Season Opener

The University of Minnesota Crookston hockey team overcame a 4-2 deficit early in the third period to upend the University of Jamestown 6-4 in their season opener Friday, October 14 at the Crookston Sports Center. The Golden Eagles scored four goals in the final 16 minutes, propelled by two Tyler Zahradka (Jr., F, Grand Forks, N.D.) tallies.
