Lake Agassiz Regional Library adds free access to FamilySearch Ancestry research tool

The Lake Agassiz Regional Library (LARL) is now a FamilySearch Affiliate Library, which means it has access to more genealogy resources to help you make more family discoveries. Summer Events at Rydell National Wildlife Refuge

Rydell National Wildlife Refuge and the Friends of Rydell and Glacial Ridge Refuges Association will be hosting several free events for area youth this summer. The first of these events will be an Introduction to Archery, which will be held at Rydell Refuge from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 16. This event is for youth ages 8-16 and will provide an introductory experience to the sport of archery, using the safe and unintimidating Hoverball Archery System, where rubber tipped arrows are shot at plastic balls that are suspended on a stream of air. This is a free event and no pre-registration is required.

Clark McGlynn, 84, of Mentor passed away peacefully on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls with his loving family by his side. Visitation will be held from 5 until 7 p.m., with a 7 p.m.

Alice Normandin

Alice Normandin, 92, of Detroit Lakes, formerly of Crookston, passed away on Sunday, June 26, 2022, at Essential Health-Oak Crossing Nursing Home in Detroit Lakes. A Mass of Christian Burial was at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2022, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in Gentilly with a time of gathering an hour prior. David Donehower Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements.

Ag Innovation Campus site

The Ag Innovation Campus site now has a visual as its first building shell recently went up on Crookston's south end. AIC's first phase includes completion of the building's interior and installation of equipment to get the soybean crush facility operational. When the AIC opens, it will reportedly produce 240 tons of soybean meal per day for 324 days a year. Founding members of the campus are the Minnesota Soybean Growers Association, Minnesota Soybean Research & Promotion Council, and the Agricultural Utilization Research Institute.
