First Community Credit Union (FCCU) recently held fundraisers for their 2022 first quarter charity, senior support. Employees of FCCU choose a different organization each quarter to support by raising money and awareness. FCCU was able to raise $3000 to be given to benefit local senior centers as well as the Minnesota-North Dakota Alzheimer’s Association Chapter, for Alzheimer’s care, support, research, awareness and advocacy.

Minnesota State University Moorhead will award degrees to more than 800 students during its spring commencement program Friday, May 13 in the university’s Nemzek Fieldhouse. This includes more than 185 graduate students and nearly 30 past graduates who are participating in the live commencement.

Altoz, Inc. broke ground recently on its new 75,000 square foot facility which is expected to be completed by the end of 2022. This is the first phase of a multi-phase expansion project in Red Lake Falls, MN that brings the combined building space to over 412,500 square feet between the Red Lake Falls and Greenbush, MN locations.

Minnesota State University Moorhead hired a familiar name to lead MSUM’s Dragon Athletics. Chad Markuson, who has served as interim athletic director since last spring, has been named the Dragons new athletic director. He will transition into the permanent role beginning May 2, 2022.

The University of Minnesota Crookston held their annual Student Awards Program, a celebration of student service, leadership, and academic athletic achievement, Thursday, April 28 in Bede Ballroom. Marah Mcdougal, a marketing major from Minneapolis, Minn., and Elaina Knott, an agricultural education major from Thief River Falls, Minn., were named as the UMN Crookston Students of the Year.
