School Board selects Dave Kuehn as interim superintendent

After a review of a number of applications for the interim superintendent position for Crookston School District, the school board selected Dave Kuehn to fill the spot during a special meeting at the district office. Kuehn was most recently the superintendent for Underwood, worked as assistant principal at Waconia High School and taught in Crookston for 20+ years.

Crookston Takes Home Five First-Place Finishes at TRF Quentin Jones Invitational

The Crookston Pirates boys’ and girls’ track teams had a great turnout at the Thief River Falls Quentin Jones Invitational on Tuesday, May 17, as they took home first in five different events. Girls’ Track and Field The girls’ team finished fourth with 97 points behind West Marshall (118), Thief River Falls (113.5) and East Grand Forks (111).

U of M Extension names new regional leader Shannon Stassen

The University of Minnesota Extension Regional Sustainable Development Partnerships (RSDP) are pleased to welcome Shannon Stassen as the new Executive Director of the Northwest RSDP. In his new role, Stassen will lead a regional board of directors and work with local governments, nonprofits, community groups, foundations and a variety of partners across Northwest Minnesota to connect local sustainability projects to research, education and resources at the University of Minnesota.

Upcoming Referendum – Olson: Public asked to vote August 9

On August 9th, Crookston Public Schools will be asking voters to vote on whether or not to build a multiuse facility on district owned land north of Crookston High School. This facility will consist of a 8 lane track; turf field for soccer, football, and softball; pressbox and seating for 750+, and a concession/bathroom building that will be built partially by our CTE students.
