Those interested in exploring the art of journaling are invited to spark their creativity and inspiration with a presentation on April 20 from 6-7:30 p.m. at the Crookston Public Library. The presentation will cover different types of journals, types of media to use, and share ideas for inspiration. Participants will start their own journals to bring home with them to finish. On the morning of April 5, 2022, the Red Lake County Sheriff’s Office received a report from Hardware Hank at the Mall in Red Lake Falls that their store had been broken into sometime overnight. Red Lake County law enforcement responded to the business and conducted an initial investigation which revealed that several handguns had been stolen.

Dali Sun, assistant professor of electrical and computer engineering at NDSU, was awarded nearly $400,000 from the National Institutes of Health to study new ways to find and treat pancreatic cancer. Pancreatic cancer is one of the deadliest forms of the disease.

The Polk County Highway Department has announced its 2022 construction season with the following county roads that will be under construction: - County State Aid Highway (CSAH) 1 - Bituminous overlay located from Beltrami, MN to Trunk Highway (TH) 32 in Fertile, MN - CSAH 15 - PCC Box Culvert and County Ditch (CD) 26 grading located in Fisher, MN - CSAH 34 - Bituminous overlay located from TH 2 in Erskine to TH 59 - CSAH 35 - Bituminous overlay located from TH 59 to CSAH 8 - CSAH 44 - Bituminous overlay located from south county line to CSAH 1 - CSAH 46 - Grading and aggregate surfacing located from TH 102 to TH 2 - CSAH 72 - Bituminous overlay located from East Grand Forks, MN to TH 220 - CSAH 73 - Bituminous overlay located from TH 2 to CSAH 19 - CSAH 76 - Bituminous overlay located from TH 2 to CSAH 17 - CSAH 34 - Stabilized aggregate base located from CSAH 1 to CSAH 36 - County Road (CR) 206 - Stabilized aggregate base located form TH 59 to CSAH 41 - CR 211 - Stabilized aggregate base located from TH 102 to CSAH 12 The public is asked to avoid these constructions projects by utilizing alternate routes of travel if at all possible.
