Hospice of the Red River Valley’s social workers are an integral part of the hospice team. By ensuring that patients and their loved ones have assistance, education and support, hospice social workers empower people to make important end-oflife decisions. They meet patients where they’re at—physically and emotionally—to provide patient-centered care. They work closely with nurses, CNAs and other hospice team members to provide cohesive, compassionate care for patients.

Has this cold, snowy winter made you want to throw in the towel - or the shovel - and head somewhere warm and sandy? Take heart, you are not alone. Now, speaking of your heart, are you doing everything you can to keep it healthy through the long, cold winter?

Until recently, it was an annual tradition. A witty little quip in the form of a calendar reminder that I'd direct at my wife sometime late in the spring.

Janelle Marie Deziel, 34, Crookston, was arrested March 7 by the Crookston Police Department for disorderly conduct. She was released on her own personal recognizance.

The Crookston High School Jr. High Knowledge Bowl teams recently placed first and third at a meet in Ada. The Crookston Blue team (1st place) was Maddie Harbott, Leah Johanneck, Abby Olson and the Crookston Gold team (3rd place) was Ben Capistran, Ethan Lanctot and Naomi Olson. (Submitted)
