Our Savior’s students participate in AHA Kids Heart Challenge

Students in grades kindergarten through sixth grade at Our Savior’s Lutheran School participated in the American Heart Association Kids Heart Challenge in February. To celebrate reaching the fundraising goal of raising at least $1,500 for the American Heart Association, the teachers participated in EGG ROULETTE! Nancy Capistran Receives RiverView Auxiliary’s Heart and Soul Award

RiverView Auxiliary members do so much to enhance the exceptional care given at RiverView Health. From running the very popular Limited Addition Gift Shop to keeping employees and visitors fed through healthy snacks in the vending machines, Auxiliary members make RiverView Health a better place. One Auxiliary member, in particular, was recently recognized for her volunteerism. That volunteer is Nancy Capistran, awarded the Alta Hermodson Heart and Soul Award for her dedication to the Auxiliary and RiverView.

Farm pesticide applicator workshop February 25 at UMN Crookston

A farm pesticide applicator workshop will be held February 25 at 1 p.m. in Bede Ballroom on the University of Minnesota Crookston campus for farmers that need to renew their Private Pesticide Applicator certifications (PPA) for the 2022 growing season. The Private Applicators certificate is for farm operators who are applying restricted use pesticide products on their fields which includes different herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, and other pest control products labeled “restricted use”.

CHS Knowledge Bowl gets 4th, 14th, 18th place while in their pajamas

Crookston High School Knowledge Bowl teams competed against 30 other teams during Snow Fest Week and ended with 4th, 14th, and 18th places all while wearing their Snow Fest pajama day outfits. Crookston Gold got 4th and included Ainsley Boucher, Ava Lopez, Thor Harbott, Nathan Kelly, and Xander Kuchan. Crookston Blue got 14th and included Zara Baig, Tatum Lubinski, David Threatt, and Nathan Johanneck. Crookston White won 18th and included George French, Alexia Threatt, Halle Bruggeman, Maddie Harbott, and Naomi Olson. SUBMITTED

Crookston Public Schools Early Childhood Screening March 7 and 8

Crookston Public Schools will host early childhood screening March 7 and 8 at Washington Elementary School (724 University Avenue) for children who are three-years-old by January 1, 2022 or four and five-year-olds who have not been screened. Early childhood screening is free and a simple check of how your child is growing, developing and learning.
