CROOKSTON - Patricia“Pat” Lee Johannson, 85, longtime Crookston, Minnesota resident, passed away January 14, 2022, at the Sanford Medical Center in Fargo, ND while being held in love and comfort by her children.

CHS Math Counts places at competition

Crookston Pirates recently participated in MathCounts in-person and online competitions on February 16 and 17, and both meets were successful. Advancing to state for individuals were Sam Widseth and Leah Johanneck, and advancing to state as a team were Sam Widseth, Ashton Hoffman, Peter Wiersma and Jace Bruggeman.

Reader feels worried about son’s future

Dear Amy: My 40-year-old son, “James” has had many bright, beautiful, and intelligent girlfriends. He has been engaged and ended various relationships throughout his adult years. James is currently in an on/off relationship (for the past five years) with no marriage plans in sight. His father and I have been amicably divorced for decades. My overall concern is that my son will never marry or find someone even for companionship.

Fisher robotics team advances to state competition

The Fisher School Robotics Team is coming off what has become the norm for the program, another successful season. After a first-place score in the “skills” portion of a recent competition in Valley City, North Dakota, the Arctic Knights recently learned that they have once again advanced to the state robotics competition. The state event will begin in St. Cloud on Thursday, March 3. The Polar Knights, Fisher School’s elementary robotics team, has also earned a trip to the state competition.
