HONOLULU – Bright lights at a luxury Hawaii resort are killing endangered seabirds, according to a lawsuit filed Monday by conservation groups that say hotel officials need to do more to protect the species.

Sulfur (S) might be considered a secondary nutrient, but it is essential for crop production. Historically, sulfur fertilizer was recommended on low soil organic matter soils and coarse-textured sandy soils, according to Jeff Vetsch, a soil scientist at the University of Minnesota Southern Research and Outreach Center in Waseca.

The Northwest Minnesota Arts Council has announced that applications are open for Arts Project Grants and Arts Legacy Grants. Grants are awarded to nonprofit arts organizations, communities, schools, individuals and other nonprofit organizations. Applications are being accepted from the seven county Minnesota service area including Kittson, Marshall, Norman, Pennington, Polk, Red Lake and Roseau counties.

The Northwest Minnesota Foundation is now accepting applications for the Laural Capistran Murphy Scholarship, which was established by the family and friends of Laural to recognize her commitment to Minnesota’s 4-H program and her belief in selfeducation, co-operative volunteering, and helping others through community involvement.

Justin Lee Nagel, 33, Grand Forks, was arrested January 31 by the Ramsey County Sheriff's Department for thirddegree drug possession. He remains incarcerated.

The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources is pleased to announce another phase of the extremely popular No Child Left Inside grants. These grants help more children cast a line, study animal tracks, hike or bike, or simply learn more about nature.
