The University of Minnesota Crookston's Office of the Registrar recently announced students named to the fall semester 2021 Chancellor's List. Students named to the Chancellor's List include the following:

Michelle Cuno of Euclid was recently announced as one of the College of St. Scholastica's Fall 2021 Dean's List recipients. Dean's List members have achieved a 3.75 grade point average or above on a 4.0 scale.

The North Dakota State College of Science has named 413 students to its fall semester 2021 President’s Honor List including Ellie Schmitz of Fisher who is majoring in Business Management. The Honor List recognizes students who have achieved grade point averages of 3.5 or higher while taking at least 12 credits with letter grades.

Minnesota Department of Agriculture (MDA) Assistant Commissioner Whitney Place has been appointed to serve as the Executive Director of the USDA's Farm Service Agency (FSA) Minnesota office. Place has been with the MDA since 2012, serving in multiple capacities. In her new post she will oversee operations and agriculture policy implementation in Minnesota.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Polk County Democratic-Farmer-Labor (DFL) Party has made the decision to move to contactless precinct caucuses to protect the health of caucus participants and their communities. The caucus is scheduled for Tuesday, February 1, 2022 from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m.

Wayne Capistran of Crookston was recently presented with the Minnesota Crop Improvement Association's (MCIA) highest honor - the Achievement in Crop Improvement Award. Since 1972, the annual award recognizes exemplary service to the seed industry as well as outstanding leadership in agriculture and the local community. The award was presented during the Minnesota Crop Improvement Association’s 119th Annual Meeting which was a virtual event hosted at MCIA’s office in St. Paul on January 12, 2022.
