Martin Luther King Day retroflection

May I share some reflections on a special person on a day of national celebration? Everyone has special memories that cement historical occurrences in their personal consciousness, whether it be the assassinations of the Kennedys or Martin Luther King, or the Jihadist assaults of 911. Mine relate directly to this day’s events and the historical circumstances that preceded it and proceeded from it.

Boys’ basketball falls 49-84

The Crookston Pirates boys' basketball team fell in another lopsided affair with a 49-84 loss to Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton (DGF) on Monday, January 10. The first 12 minutes of the game proved to be competitive as they two teams tied three times with three different lead changes.

Boys’ hockey hangs with Bemidji

The Crookston Pirates boys' hockey team got out to an early lead, but Bemidji scored six unanswered goals for the 6-1 victory. "Bemidji is a very good hockey team, and this was another step in the process of us learning how to compete against top-level teams," head coach Joshua Hardy said.
