Girls' tennis: Pirates fall to Panthers, win next 2 at Park Rapids Quad

The Pirates started Tuesday's quadrangular in Park Rapids with a 4-3 loss to section rival Park Rapids. However, they bounced back and beat Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 5-2 and Pequot Lakes 4-3 to improve to 2-2 in duals this season.

Lilli Denison was the lone Pirate to win three matches on the day. Lizzy Awender and Abby Wilder each went 2-0 , while Amber Trostad and Morgan Henre were victorious in their lone varsity matches. Kylie Simmons, Bailey Morris and Jaclyn Proulx were each 2-1 on the day.

In junior varsity action, Crookston fell to Park Rapids 2-0 but beat Long Prairie-Grey Eagle 2-0 and Pequot Lakes 1-0.

The Pirates will travel to Moorhead Friday for a triangular with Moorhead and East Grand Forks.
