The Golden Eagles are recipients of the award in seven of the last eight years.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The University of Minnesota Crookston soccer team earned the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award as announced Thurs., Oct. 4. The Golden Eagles have continued to have outstanding performance in the classroom as they have now received the honor in seven of the last eight years.

    The United Soccer Coaches College Women’s Team Academic Award was first introduced in 1996. To qualify for the award, a team must have a minimum grade point average of 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) to be eligible. The honor recognized exemplary performance in the classroom during the 2017-18 academic year.

    A total of 773 college teams (289 men, 484 women) earned the Team Academic Award. United Soccer Coaches annually celebrates the academic achievements of high school and college soccer teams whose student-athletes collectively demonstrate a commitment to excellence in their studies over the course of a full academic year.
