$160,000 campaign fundraising goal exceeded by approximately $11,000.
The United Way of Crookston received their check from Hugo’s Store Manager Bob O’Halloran on Wednesday. Hugo’s helped raise $9,828.35 for the United Way of Crookston through its recent, third annual golf scramble at Minakwa Golf Club in Crookston.
“Hugo’s is a great community partner,” said Lori Wagner executive director of the United Way of Crookston. “Bob O’Halloran and Nick Nelson from Hugo’s were true leaders and motivators from the start. We also had an 11 person United Way committee that was very engaged.”
Wagner thanked Hugo’s for being the “Elite Sponsor” for the golf scramble. She also thanked the hole sponsors this year, the in-kind sponsors, team sponsors, food sponsors, and prize sponsors.
“Without all of you this would not have happened,” she said.
Next year’s golf scramble date at Minakwa is a bit earlier in the summer, on June 27, 2019.
The United Way of Crookston’s 2018 goal was $160,000, and Wagner said that thanks to the Hugo’s scramble the bottom line for the 2018 campaign is now $171,100. The 2019 campaign officially gets underway on Oct. 15 with the Soup and Chili Cook-Off at Crookston High School.
