Ada beat Crookston 7-3. The Reds' record drops to 6-9.

The Crookston Reds looked to build on Sunday’s 15-14 come-from-behind win as they traveled to Ada to play the A’s for the second time this season. A single inning’s worth of runs proved to be enough for Ada as they won 7-3.

The Reds (6-9) carried a 2-1 lead into the bottom of the fifth inning, but a six spot put up by the A’s slingshot them to a 7-2 advantage. Crookston added another run in the ninth inning, but got no closer and lost for the fourth time in five games.

Sean Minder pitched the entire game for the Reds. Despite allowing seven, Minder was only charged two due to errors committed by his defense. Minder struck out five and walked none.

Bailey Schmitz collected the only Crookston RBI of the game. Cody Magsam tallied two hits and scored twice and Alex LaFrance scored a run.

Crookston returns home for the Jim Karn Memorial Tournament. They will play the Bonivital Brewers on Friday, 15 at 7 p.m. and the Marble Mallards on Saturday, June 16 at 4:30 p.m. Sunday’s game is TBD.
