Dave Grabowski knocked in the go-ahead run and Crookston won 15-14.
The Crookston Reds trailed 13-3 in the bottom of the sixth and were on the brink of losing their fourth straight game. The Reds scored eight runs in the bottom of the sixth inning with the help of walks, timely hits and errors to slash Dilworth’s lead and only trail 13-11.
Crookston inched closer scoring one in the seventh, but the Raildogs plated an insurance run to lead 14-12 heading to the bottom of the eighth. An RBI base hit by Matt Morin (pictured scoring on the left) made the score 14-13. Then with two runners on, Dave Grabowski hit a two-RBI double to give Crookston the 15-14 lead, their first of the game.
After surrendering 13 runs in the first six innings, Crookston pitchers Blake Kawlewski (pictured on the right) , Sean Minder and Blake Karas combined to pitch the final four innings allowing only one unearned run.
The win snaps a three-game losing streak and improves the Reds’ record to 6-8. They will look to start a new winning streak when they take on the Ada A’s on the road on Wednesday, June 13. First pitch is at 7:30 p.m.
