ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The University of Minnesota Crookston men’s golf team sits in 16th place of 16 teams after the first two rounds of the Lindenwood Invitational Mon., April 9 in St. Charles, Mo. The tournament is being played at The Missouri Bluffs Golf Club.
The Golden Eagles demonstrated growth across the two rounds. They improved from a 344 in round one to a 328 the second time out. Minnesota Crookston is 16 strokes behind University of Wisconsin-Parkside in 15th.
Minnesota Crookston has looked to T’mone Kleindl (Sr., Graceville, Minn.), who led the team with rounds of 84 and 78. Kleindl is currently tied for 64th in the field. Connor Humble (Fr., Rosemount, Minn.) turned in rounds of 88 and 79 Monday. Eric Gullicks (Sr., Finley, N.D.) carded an 88 and 82 for the day. Brandon Brown (Jr., Stanchfield, Minn.) shot an 84 and 94, while Ricky Phillips (Sr., Grand Forks, N.D.) turned in a 96 and 89.
Lindenwood University leads their home tournament with a score of 571. They are five strokes ahead of University of Central Missouri. Yente Van Doren of Lindenwood leads the individual field after shooting rounds of 70 and 67.
Van Doren leads Concordia-St. Paul golfer Noah Rasinski by two strokes.
Minnesota Crookston will conclude the Lindenwood Invitational Tues., April 10 in St. Charles, Mo.
