The Pirates of the Week are Cade Salentine, Aleah Bienek, Luke Trandem, Michelle Pahlen, Elysa Christensen, Shaun Nelson, Sarah Pahlen, Karlie Brekken, Kate MacGregor and Hayden Winjum.

Boys' Hockey

Cade Salentine - Sr. G

Head Coach Josh Hardy said, “Cade, a senior goalie for the Pirates is riding a long hot streak in the net allowing one goal in his last three games, including a 160:30 minute shut out streak. Cade is playing the best hockey of his career right now and in the recent win over East Grand Forks, he was the clear-cut MVP stopping 34 of 35 shots. Cade is extremely athletic and when he's on, he is one of the best goalies in not only the section, but the state. His play will be key to the Pirates making a deep playoff run.”

Girls' Hockey

Aleah Bienek - 8th F

Head Coach Jaclyn Martin says, “Aleah is currently tied for the team lead in assists with 12. On top of that, she’s notched four goals in her first year on the varsity squad. Her athletic ability and intuition has really started to show more and more each game/practice. Aleah works hard and is always wanting to learn more. She also wears this contagious smile on her face that can brighten anyone’s day. Aleah is a great role model for our Crookston community and has been a joy to have this year. Knowing we get her for another four seasons will only continue to make this program more and more successful on the ice and off.”

Wrestling

Luke Trandem - Sr.

Head Coach Wes Hanson says, “Luke has been finding a way to win the close matches this season which is a testament to his mental toughness and improvement throughout his career. He is a strong leader by example. He won three matches last weekend at the Skip Nalan Invitational in Grand Rapids.”

Boys' Basketball

Student Managers: Michelle Pahlen, Elysa Christensen, Shaun Nelson, Sarah Pahlen and Karlie Brekken

Head Coach Greg Garmen says, “I would like to nominate our five managers: Michelle Pahlen, Elysa Christensen, Shaun Nelson, Sarah Pahlen and Karlie Brekken. These five have done an outstanding job helping in all areas of basketball management. They're great!”

Dance

Kate MacGregor - Sr.

Head Coach Adrianne Winger says, “Kate has been actively involved with the Treasurettes since eighth grade. Her spunkiness when choreographing dances keeps the energy level of the team up. Her creative thinking and leadership qualities have been a huge asset the past two years as co-captain.”

Girls' Basketball

Hayden Winjum - 8th G

Head Coach Darin Zimmerman says, “All season, Hayden has been improving and growing as a basketball player. She has a great shot and makes smart decisions. She often makes her presence known on the defense end of the floor where she typically is matched up with one of the opposing team’s best players.”
