With 10 games remaining in the regular season, the Pirates own a record of 9-7.

    The Pirates ended their two game skid by beating Badger-Greenbush-Middle River in a road make-up contest. In the fourth game of Crookston’s five game road trip, the Pirates used defense and timely scoring to win 53-45 and improve their record to 9-7.   

    Freshman guard Emma Borowicz led the team in points for the second straight game with 15 and averages 10.5 points a game. Senior guard Bailey Folkers also recorded double digit points with 11 and averages 10.6 points a game.    

    Also scoring for the Pirates were junior guard Kylie Solheim with seven, senior guard Jaeden Lizakowski and eighth grade guard Hayden Winjum each scored six, sophomore guard Kasey Cwikla put up four and junior forwards Rachel Hefta and Hailey Seaver contributed two.    

    Crookston led 25-19 at halftime and were outscored in the second half 29-28, but held on to get the 53-45 victory. Of the Pirates’ nine wins, five of them came by a margin of 10 or less points. On the road, Crookston owns a record of 6-5   

    One more game remains on Crookston’s five game road trip, a matchup against Roseau on Monday, January 29 at 7:30 p.m.
