The Pirates of the Week are MacKenze Epema, Jaden Lubarski, Jaeden Lizakowski, Lukas Andringa and Jake Wagner.

Girls' Hockey

MacKenze Epema - Fr. D/F

Head Coach Jaclyn Martin says, “Mac is a freshman forward/defenseman this year and one of our captains. Mac has made the shift from a defenseman to a forward and we couldn’t be more pleased with her efforts and ability to adjust so quickly. We needed another strong player up top and Mac certainly fills that void. She’s an all-around type of player that does whatever it takes, works hard all the time and never needs reminding. Mac’s got a great view of the ice and that’s one of the reasons she is excelling so much. She’s had some breakaway chances and it’s only a matter of time before one crosses the goal line. Mac has many years of varsity hockey ahead of her. I’m looking forward to watch her progress.”

Boys' Basketball

Jaden Lubarski - Jr. F

Head Coach Greg Garmen says, “Jaden had a great game against TRF last Saturday scoring a career high of 17 points to lead the Pirates. Jaden also does a nice job of defending for the Pirates.”

Girls' Basketball

Jaeden Lizakowski - Sr. G

Head Coach Darin Zimmerman says, “Jaeden has played well this season and has really started to find her shot. She is one of the better shooters we have, so it is important that we find her for open shots. She made three 3-point field goals on Saturday against TRF and is shooting nearly 40% from beyond the arc this season. If Jaeden continues to shoot this way, it will help us get our offense going.”

Boys' Hockey

Lukas Andringa - Sr. D

Head Coach Josh Hardy says, “Lukas finds himself in a new role this year unable to participate in contact sports due to a severe injury he suffered this fall. Lukas participates in practice and helps coach on the bench during JV and varsity games. He is a vital member of our team and a senior leader. Lukas is a great kid who is making the best of a difficult situation and we couldn't be prouder how he is handling it and though it’s not how he imagined, he is contributing to the success of our team this year in a big way.”

Wrestling

Jake Wagner - Sr.

Head Coach Wes Hanson says, “This week’s honor goes to the senior captain Jake Wagner. He recorded a takedown late in the third period to secure a 3-2 victory in our dual last week against TRF. He was also able to find the podium in a deep weight class at the Big Bear Tournament. Jake is a leader for our team on and off the mat.”
