Carter Winand scored 19 and Todd Boerger put up 18 in the loss.

    The Crookston Pirates looked to extend their winning streak to five as they ventured to Fosston. The Pirates surrendered a first half lead, kept pace with the Greyhounds throughout the game, but came up short at the end losing 62-55.    

    Crookston (4-2) went into the locker room trailing 29-24, but came out better in the second half scoring 31 points to Fosston’s 33.    

    Senior center Carter Winand led the Pirates in scoring with 19 points and senior guard Todd Boerger was close behind with 18. The 18 points from Boerger put his season total at 99 for the year averaging 16.5 points per game. Winand puts up just over 15 points on average.   

    Also scoring for the Pirates were junior forwards Blake Fee and Jaden Lubarski with six and five respectively. Junior forward Nick Garmen added four, sophomore center Caden Osborn scored two and senior forward Jackson Seibel converted a free throw. When coming off the bench, Osborn has scored 13 points on the season with 20 rebounds and 15 assists.     

    Crookston will play their fifth straight road game on the winter solstice Thursday, December 21 against Dilworth-Glyndon-Felton. Tip-off is set for 7:30 p.m.
