Crookston now looks to the postseason which begins on October 12.

GRAND FORKS, N.D. - The Crookston Pirates played Bemidji in Grand Forks for their final regular season match and fell to the Lumberjacks 5-2.   

    Bemidji took three of the four singles matches. Jaeden Lizakowski, Cat Tiedemann and Elysa Christensen played first, second and third singles. Hayden Winjum competed in fourth singles and won in two sets 6-1 and 6-2.   

    Ally Tiedemann and Amy Follette paired up in first doubles. The duo edged out Bemidji in a close first set 7-5 and then went on to win the second 6-2. The two have never lost when playing first doubles together.   

    Hannah Street and Nissa Brekken played second doubles closely, but fell short 6-3 and 6-4.    

    Emily Barrus and Emma Borowicz split the first two sets, but lost a third set tiebreaker 7-4.    

    The loss gives Crookston a 13-8-1 record. The Pirates now prepare for the Section 8A Team Tournament beginning on Thursday, October 12 in Fargo. The individual tournament will follow beginning on Friday, October 13.
