Luisa Bernia scored her first goal of the year in the loss.

    Crookston began the final stretch of their season against the East Grand Forks Green Wave. The Pirates, plagued by injuries this season, suffered a 10-1 defeat against East Side.   

    The Green Wave scored early and often taking a 3-0 lead in the first 12 minutes. East Side tacked on two more goals by the 20th minute for a 5-0 lead.    

    The Pirates got on the board in the 24th minute when Luisa Bernia took a shot from 25 yards out and beat the Green Wave goalkeeper.    

    East Grand Forks scattered their final five goals and handed the Pirates their 10th loss of the season, giving them a record of 1-10-1.    

    With two games remaining, Crookston will first play a road game against Walker-Hackensack-Akeley on Thursday, October 5 at 3:30 p.m.   

    Last time they played on September 9, the two teams tied 1-1.
