The women's golf team competed in their second invitational of the season.

MARSHALL, Minn. – The University of Minnesota Crookston women’s golf team finished 13th at the Mustang Invite played Sat., Sept. 23 and Sun., Sept. 24 at Marshall Golf Club in Marshall, Minn.   

    Minnesota Crookston improved vastly between the two days as they shot a 401 on the first day and improved by 27 strokes on day two as they shot a team score of 374. Ashlee Humble (Sr., Rosemount, Minn.) led the way with a 91 and an 82 to finish tied for 41st. McKenzie Harris (Jr., Nevis, Minn.) shot a 100 and 90 on the tournament. Megan Ryan (Fr., Oconto, Wis.) shot a 108 in the first round and carded a 94 in round two, as she improved by 14 strokes. Michaela Anderson (Fr., Grafton, N.D.) rounded out the pack with rounds of 102 and 108.   

    Minnesota State University took the tournament win with a team score of 624. They bested Minot State University by 23 strokes. Minnesota State’s Haley Tollette won the individual tournament with rounds of 76 and 74. She bested four golfers by four strokes.   

    Minnesota Crookston will return to play Oct. 1-2 at the St. Cloud State Invite in St. Cloud, Minn.
