The Pirates lost on the road 3-1 in a game called for lightning.

    Eric Delorme scored a goal, but it was not enough for the Pirates to beat the Detroit Lakes Lakers. The match in Detroit Lakes was called in the second half due to lightning and Crookston’s record fell to 4-6 on the season.    

    Trailing 1-0 in the first half, Eric Delorme who is usually on the assists side of goals found the back of the net for his third goal of the season.    

    Detroit Lakes took a 2-1 lead into halftime. Before the lightning played a factor, the Lakers managed to tack on another goal.    

    Logan Wardner who owned a save percentage of 77.7 coming into the game against the Lakers played in the net for the Pirates.    

    With a record of 4-6, Crookston will begin the trek back to .500 when they welcome East Grand Forks on Thursday, September 21. This game will be one of their final two home games for the season. The start time is scheduled for 4 p.m. at the CHS soccer fields.
