The Crookston Pirates girls golf team opened its season with a first-place finish in Monday’s triangular at Minakwa Country Club.
    Crookston finished with a team score of 188, 18 strokes ahead of second-place finisher Thief River Falls.


    Pirate junior Ally Tiedemann finished in first place individually with a 42, while eighth-grader teammate Joslynn Leach came in second with a score of 46.


    Crookston returns to action at 1 p.m. today (Tuesday) to take part in the Pelican Rapids Invite at Wildflower Golf Course in Detroit Lakes.
